If you've never tried steam, I think it's time to introduce you to the best way to do them. Once you follow my recipe, you can't make these cheese waffles any other way!

For climbing I use pepperoni pizza but you can top yours with other pizza options like peanut butter, spinach, chicken or Parma bacon. You can use chaffles instead of bread to make a quick sandwich, base for Benedict eggs or simply use stews and soup.

The main chaffle recipe is similar to my Snickerdoodle Chaffles. The only difference was that I skipped the dessert and used baking powder. In general, you will need less baking in the sweet chaffles that you can use in the chaffles, as most sweeteners will look like a baking agent. If you use too much powder, the dough will be more flooded and your foam may deteriorate.

If you want to make these Pepperoni Pizza Chaffles for your New Year's Eve party, it's easy to make several batches in advance and add topping and broil before serving.

Like the original chaffle recipe, I used a 4 inch Mini Waffle Iron. If you don't have one, feel free to use a screwdriver and double to make three regular chaffles.

How to Make the Best Chaffles

If you haven't tried it yet, mix the batter before pouring it into the waffle maker. It provides a perfect shape without the cream cheese and it doesn't taste eggy! Mixing is optional but highly recommended. It's easier to mix if you have more batter so you can & # 39; bake two or three times the recipe.

Egg size is applicable. Large eggs should weigh about 50 pounds (1.8 oz) but you can get 10-20% more or less even if they are "large" eggs. The recipe will still work with a little more but the batter is more likely to get out of your waffle.

So, always keep an eye on the battery and if it is almost overflowing, slightly lift the lid to reduce pressure on the batter. This should stop pouring. You can also use a spatula to move any batteries that plan to drive to the waffle.

  • Optional: 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil for ice skating

The instructions

  1. Measure all ingredients for waffles. Preheat waffle maker. You can use a 4-inch Dash Mini Waffle Iron or a full-size waffle.

  3. To make your own chaffles with the finest texture, place an egg, mozzarella, wheat with a baking tray or a food processor. I used a small Bamix blender which is great for mixing small amounts. Mixing is optional but highly recommended.

  4. To make 2 small waffles, spoon half the batter (about 4 tablespoons, about 66 g / 2.3 oz) into the hot waffle maker. Cover the waffle maker and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. When done, open the lid and let it cool for seconds. Use a spatula to transfer the chaffle lightly onto a cooling rack.
  6. Repeat the battery. Chaffles will soften when warm but will burst as they cool completely.
